Job Title: Field Welders – Carbon Steel (Stick Welding – X-Ray Quality)

Type: Contractor Preferred (Hourly Wage Option Available)

Arc Mechanical Services specializes in the installation and modification of essential piping systems across industrial, commercial, and energy sectors. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Field Welders with proven experience in refineries, compressor stations and other oil & gas environments, specifically working on carbon steel using stick (SMAW) welding techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute X-ray quality SMAW welds on carbon steel piping systems, including butt welds and fittings.
  • Read basic, isometric piping diagrams, pipe drawing and welding specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with CSA B51, and CSA Z662 standards.
  • Work safely and effectively on new construction and retrofit projects at industrial job sites.
  • Collaborate with crew leads and fitters to complete work on schedule and to spec.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience welding in pipeline, refinery, or industrial construction environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete X-ray quality welds on carbon steel using stick welding (SMAW).
  • Welding certifications to relevant ASME/CSA standards, or ability to test prior to start.
  • Strong pipefitting, bevel prep, and fit-up skills.
  • Able to work safely in outdoor and construction environments.
  • Must supply own tools and PPE.

Compensation:
We offer flexible engagement options:

  • Contractor rates (preferred) – competitive based on experience and availability
  • Hourly wage option – available for long-term or local projects
